A 6-Year Journey

Over a period of six years, we helped a big pharmaceutical company to transform its enterprise service management, IT, finance, HR operations, contractor management, and agile management processes using ServiceNow. This transformation led to significant improvements in compliance, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.

Creating a system to streamline processes and increase productivity

The client, a global leader in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, faced challenges in managing its diverse and complex operations. The need for a unified, compliant, and efficient system was paramount to streamline processes and enhance productivity. 

The company required a comprehensive solution to migrate various departments to a centralized platform, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and ease of use.

Long-term project with various phases

The project commenced six years ago and was executed in multiple phases:

ESM

We assisted the company in migrating towards ServiceNow and created a validated environment to assure compliance with required frameworks. A centralized data-driven portal was developed where many internal organizations exposed their services to employees.

IT

The migration towards ServiceNow ITSM was carried out in three phases, enhancing the environment to create easy-to-use workflows and request fulfillment, which was as automated as possible. The application portfolio process was integrated into ServiceNow to provide a uniform and structured approach for the entire organisation to gain insight into application status and lifecycle.

Finance

The finance department was transformed from an email and Excel-based interaction approach to a structured and process-driven approach. Employees were encouraged to register their questions and requests via the centralized portal.

HR Operations

The People and Culture department of the company transitioned from local, country-based HR operations to a regional approach with three regional HR support centers around the globe. ServiceNow Employee Workflows were implemented to enforce this new structure.

Contractor Management

To control the huge costs and compliance issues around contractor management, a global application was created on top of the ServiceNow platform to onboard, offboard, manage, and report on external contractors at the company. This mandatory application became the sole source of truth for any external contractor work.

Scrum and Agile Management

By making the standard ServiceNow functions for Agile and Scrum enterprise-ready, the solution can now easily be deployed to multiple departments.
